Our CSR policy

At Kokkeriet, CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) is an important element to achieving sustainable results. We attach great importance to working with (and learning from) collaborators and producers who do good for the people around us – people we perhaps don’t reach in our daily operations, but whom we always have in mind.

It is important to us that our values shine through in everything we do. That’s why we are constantly working to expand and develop the framework for our CSR to contribute to our society. In short, we just want to give a little back from the success we have achieved ourselves.

In the long run, what’s something in life really worth if you don’t have anyone to share it with?

Our initiatives and projects so far:

Én Til Væggen

Én Til Væggen is a project started by Kokkeriet in 2014 in cooperation with a lot of (indispensable) business partners, big as small. The idea of the project is to give about 50-60 people from the Sundholm Activity Center an experience they’ll never forget – and a feeling of being Cinderella/Prince for a day. Én Til Væggen‘s first event was held October 26, 2014, and has since been an annually recurring event.

We hope that our little event will spread and develop over time and that more and more sponsors and collaborators – both in private and in public – will welcome the opportunity to participate.

Q-Værk

Our collaboration with Project Q-Værk began in October 2017 with a private dining event for 13 women, victims of violence, residing in different shelters in Copenhagen. Our close cooperation with various sponsors made it possible to give all participants a luxurious ‘makeover’ before being driven in limousines to the restaurant, where we were waiting with a sumptuous Michelin starred dinner all-inclusive.

En God Sags Bryllup

We have also been collaborating with the wonderful initiative: ‘En God Sags Bryllup’.

Kokkeriet sponsored a full wedding menu for all guests, as well as professional waiters, for a young couple’s wedding. Thus making it possible for the wedding budget to go to Syria’s children instead. A win-win for everyone.

Read more about the project here.

The Sølvgade school’s children

We love our address in Copenhagen K as well as our community. And for a long time, we have been working together with the school on Sølvgade. Every other week, our skilful cooks have the pleasure of teaching 8 of the school’s 4th-grade students in cooking. We see this collaboration as a great way to introduce Danish gastronomy and genuine love of food to the school’s curriculum.

Frederiksberg Høstfest (Harvest Festival)

In 2017, we teamed up with Copenhagen Cooking & Copenhagen Food Festival for the first time, to participate in Frederiksberg Høstfest. During the festival, Frederiksberg Allé is transformed into a long and quite popular communal table of 500 meters, seating 1400 dining guests. We were teamed up with an organic farmer, who brought the best ingredients of the season to Kokkeriet’s chefs. From this, we compiled a delicious 3-course menu for the guests at the table.

Sustainability

Kokkeriet cares about the environment. Naturally! All water served in the restaurant is environmentally friendly and simply filtered (with an option of adding carbon dioxide to make it sparkle in the glass). Denmark still has some of the best drinking water on earth – and we are proud to be able to serve it. We have also discarded factory-made glass to avoid unnecessary CO2 emissions. Instead, we have chosen beautiful mouth-blown bottles for our water.

Many of our wines are organic or even biodynamic; We like to work with producers who, like us, love wine and who seek a more clean expression in wine, with as few as possible of the additives that are seen in wines these days.

We have carefully chosen, and are working with, a handful of the best suppliers in Denmark to ensure that most of our ingredients are Danish, local, and of course of the highest quality.

We make sure to sort and recycle all our waste, including our empty wine bottles.

In addition, we support several organizations such as the AIDS Fund (AIDS-fondet), the association Cancerramte Børn (children affected by cancer), and more.

Write us at info@kokkeriet.dk, if you think we also should support your good cause. We read all mails through with utmost interest.
